Singaraja is the most important city in the North of Bali and has 3 hospitals. For people from the West the private hospital Kertha Husada is the most suitable. The general manager of this large and modern hospital is dr. Handra, a very skilled, well English speaking doctor. Dr. Handra can always be contacted for “our people” and he proved to feel responsibility for a 100%. Of course dr. Handra will recommend a treatment in the West or Singapore in a number of cases but if urgent help was needed we always could count on him. Bills of dr. Handra or every other doctor or medical treatment are usely paid by insurances without problems. Also for dental care you can get help in the Kertha Husada hospital. So far we don’t have bad experiences with medical treatment. Except what we call regular medical aid, Bali has a large number of wonder doctors. About these guru’s the most miraculous tales are told. Typical Balinese but also a number of our buyers can tell you stories that made their life more agreeably.
