Food in Bali On Bali is a Makro, similar to the Makro in the Netherlands. In there you can buy almost all the food that you are used to buy in the West. But more shops in Bali are specialised in the import products. If you want the more local food then of course you can buy this easier and far cheaper. Many of the helper-girls who cook have contact with the other helper-girls and they exchange information and recipes. There is a lot of fresh fish and also the fruit is very good. There are several good restaurants in the region and there is Lumbung, the restaurant in Lovina where you meet other Western people and where you can eat nice food prepared according to the Dutch kitchen. To drink tap water is not recommended although the local people drink it.
